Doctors, Nurses, and Patients

When we are ill we generally go and sec a doctor. He may be working at a clinic, a health centre or a hospital. We tell him about our illness and after he has examined us and found what is wrong, he prescribes treatment and tells us what to do to get better. We may have to take pills or medicines or have injections or some other forms of treatment. Sometimes, however, we may have to be operated on to be cured, as in the case of accidents or serious diseases.
When we have to stay in hospital, or be operated on, doctors are helped by nurses. Hospital-nurses of this kind are professionally trained people (usually girls or women) who care for those who are ill or injured.
