Who is right?

An old lady with her little dog was travelling by train. In the same compartment, there was a man who smoked all the time. The old lady was very angry with him:
"Your pipe smells horrible." She said. "Must you smoke all the time?"
"This is a smoking compartment." The man said and he lit his pipe again.

The dog began to bark. The old lady was furious. Suddenly she took the pipe out of man's mouth and threw it out of the window. The man said nothing. But in a few seconds, he picked up the dog and threw it out of the window.
"Go and fetch my pipe, doggie!" he said.
